Inspired by her observations of shadows upon the ground and shadows on the ground, the artist spent weeks perfecting the technique used that allows objects to be represented in two dimensions onto canvas. If the object is alive or perishable, such as fruit and even people and other objects, they are transformed into paintings of their own. Alexa's painting style has an ephemeral quality, the only thing that remains of Alexa Meade's work is her photo. Trompe l'oeil can be achieved using the two processes of painting and photographing. The result is a flattened, two dimensional picture. Meade has also integrated her model paintings into the space of 3D that surrounds them. The interaction between them as well as the world they created is conceivable. Thus, the boundary between painting and photography is removed.
